First shots with scope

I set up this morning with a bench and rest at 50 yards. Nice bright sunny morning with light winds. I was using the 158 grain jacketed bullets. And my new Bushnell Banner 1.75-4 x 32 scope. My first 3 shots Were Way off target low the fourth shot was about 3 inches high and left. After getting centered, these 10 rounds were fired. The five in the black were my first shots, the rest followed and I am very pleased with the results. Definitely minute of deer capable.
You can see the original low shot at the bottom of the picture.
What a treat to make that small group in the center at 50 yards! This is fun.

As you can tell, I am back in Nebraska. Where backyard shooting works just fine.

Looks like you've got it dialed in for sure. What gun was it? I'm assuming 357 mag with those bullets, so I'm guessing it was a Henry Carbine or rifle.

Oh, yeah, something to be said for backyard shooting. I know I'm living right if I can walk out the back door and shoot. Something I never take for granted.

Nicely done - looks like you have a really nice shooting carbine there - should be a great deer hunting rig.

Our 357 mag lever gun is the Marlin. I think the 357 mag is the perfect cartridge for lever gun shooting fun.

Nice target Cofisher. Do you have any pictures or the gun with the scope on it? Is that the scope they call the slug gun scope? Thanks Al

These are all I have for now. A Weaver rail, had to file one mounting hole a bit. Weaver quick detach rings (high), and a hammer extension.

I am not sure about the 'slug' name, could be. It is an adequate scope at 4x to shoot comfortably at any distance my 357 is capable of being used properly. I have my eye on a Nikon 2-7x32 and will go there eventually.

My hunting will be done in Nebraska. A 100 yard shot is not very likely. Most will be in the 50-75 yard range. Little clearings in the trees. I am really looking forward to it.
