Some fun after work

Went to the range after work, killing time before the club's monthly meeting with my Henry Classic. Did a few types of ammo, CCI SV, Golden Bullets, and CCI Blazer. I hung a 7x12 piece of stainless steel, just for fun (it's off of a scrap coffee brewer from work
), plus a couple targets tacked up. I did all offhand @ 50 yds and was actually able to even hit a hanging tennis ball a couple times! I have pics of the sheet metal and one target. I didn't notice a big difference between the Blazers and the GBs, except for when ejecting. Seems the GBs don't pop out as smoothly. Overall, I think I shot about 130 rounds. Was a good time!

Sure sounds like a good time. Nice to be able to squeeze in some range time when you can. Like the way you made some adjustments as you went along. I do that quite a bit, too, when offhand shooting. Good work.

it never ceases to amaze me at how quickly one can fire over a hundred rounds .... sounds like a really good day .... hopefully many more are on tap

I do, RanchRoper. There's just something about them. Part is the romantic aspects because of watching Westerns, both movie and TV. But I'm also a practicality guy. I don't have to completely remove a hand to cycle like a bolt, and I wonder about semiautomatics in SHTF or EOTWAWKI times when springs and gas pistons break. Might as well use the gun as a club. A lever will run forever!

Yeah, I looked down at an empty box and said, I've only been here 10 minutes! I *couldn't* have shot all of that already! But when you drop 15 down the tube each time, they get gobbled up quick!

you got that right .... I hope to take our grandson with his Henry 357 and my Henry 44 Mag and/or 45-70 to a friend's range tomorrow .... I have no doubt we will go through a couple of hundred rounds each

Is there any symbolism in shooting something from work?
One day a friend and I took a 10/22 to the range and we ended up shooting a full case of 5,000 rounds in one day. I remember buying that case of Winchester Wildcats for $88 out the door.

No symbolism.
I'm just picking sheet metal from junked brewers. Free is cheap!
