It really depends on a lot of different factors - i.e. specific rifle, which Skinner sight (barrel vs receiver), what range you are sighting in at, specific ammo ....Tom Brush wrote:I see that several people have purchased the Skinner peep sights and then had to replace the front sight. Right and as Tad says, there are several variables that impact the front sight height. I have a brass 357MAG Bigboy with a Skinner "Express" receiver sight. I ended up putting a Lyman 17A AMI (.494") Globe on the front. With this combo, I was able to sight the rifle in at 25yds using Federal 158g Magnum JSP with the Skinner at about 1 1/2 turns up from its full bottom position.
