My son was visiting from San Francisco, so naturally we had some range time on my property. Sure was fun. We putb120 rds through the AR, and 200+ through the my new Henry H004S. Good times.

That looks like a fantastic range that you have. There can't be anything better than a bit of father/son bonding ..... especially if rifles are included!

Thanks for the kind comments. I'm very lucky to have a place that I can shoot anytime I want to. In these times were all facing now,its nice to know that not only myself, but other outdoor/gun enthusiasts can still do this, and pass down that enjoyment to our children no matter how old they are.

Sir, you are living my dream! I want a place where I can walk out the backdoor and sling some lead. Right now some of my neighbors would wet their pants if I fired a BB gun.

Again, yes I am extremely fortunate to have this kind of property, but I got to tell ya, it took me awhile to find a place where I could do this. It was one of the requirements when I was looking for a new place. I would ask the real estate agents if I could shoot my gums, and if the neighbors were ok with it. Some of them would look at me like I was crazy. I also wanted a river, creek, or lake that I could take my Labrador Retriever swimming in the summer. Ended up with a creek, and he loves that.

Had a nice time at my range yesterday with my Silverboy. Man I love shooting this rifle. I even cleaned er up good afterwards.

I think my local range is buried under snow now like some lost city. Have fun shooting!!

However I do find that my ammo lasts longer right now....

Haha, yeah we're having a little warm spell. It was in the 40's yesterday, but no snow like you folks up North. Happy new year.

Fun, fun, fun at my range today. I've been blazing a trail to extend my range from 30 yards to 50 yards. I made the backstop out of mostly tree branches, and logs from our property. There's also a steep hill behind that. Pretty safe.
My Wife donated some old kitchen pans (2), so I could hang them like a gong.

I just started reloading for my .223, and before I loaded anymore I wanted to see if they cycled through my AR. and also make to sure the cartridges were accurate, and to see if the primers were seated good. Well lets just say those 2 pans are on life support now, and my reloading skills are still intact. I only shot 15 rounds, but they worked very well. I'm pleased with the results. I used once fired Wolf Gold brass (military crimp), with CCI #41 primers, 27.7 grains of Ramshot Tac powder with a Sierra Blitzking 55 grain pill. No pictures of my range yet, but as it progresses I'll try to take a few. Pretty muddy right now.

Good info. I yearn to start reloading for this great round. The donated pans on life support= good, funny stuff! Keep up the good reporting!

I put 80 rounds of bulk Winchester 36 grain hp's through the Silverboy at my extremely muddy range today. Not 1 miss fire. Good ole cheap fun.
