Taking backyard plinking to a new level.

Well, last Friday I ordered a 24" x 3/8" thick gong.
It came Wed., and I managed to get it temporarily setup.
Need a larger stand, but anyway.
I was able to remove one small sapling from the fence row between our property and the neighboring farm.
So it sits 224 yds. from the back deck.
Should make for some interesting fun.

I had stuff to do yesterday so no real chace to play, but I did try 5 shots with the 24" Rossi 357 before I left.
Was easy to see the hits in the wet grass. Believe it or not but the first shot was over it.
I tried but couldn't hit it.
Getting ready to take another poke at it here shortly.
First up will be a 38-55.
I'll get back to y'all later.

Now that looks fun. Good luck with the 38-55 but I bet you get there quickly.

For sure, that distance takes backyard plinking to another level. You have a very large backyard. Very cool.

Well, after I made the post I walked out on the deck and was gandering down that lane. I could barely see it in the shadow, so I got the spotting scope out.
Low and behold I actually hit it once yesterday morning.
So I jumped on the 4-wheeler and rode over there.

I actually didn't

, but I am a bit deaf.
Friday afternoon I had run out of the 255 gr pills I was using and decided to try some 243gr that I load over 10.0 grs of Unique.
I hit it 3 times and never heard a sound. Didn't even know I hit it til looking thought the spotting scope.
Rode over there yesterday morning on the 4-wheeler to look and discovered that I had hit it again with the 357.
But, the interesting thing is, is that the 243's were tumbling
Now, I've shot these and this load at paper between 50 to 75 yds. and never noticed that.
Oh, well a hits a hit right?
Yesterday I did load some different 245's that I recently picked up over the same 10,0 grs of Unique to try,
probably here in a little while.

I'll bet, but neither of my 45's are silenced or any of my others.
But, I do have some of those big ole 325's.

Randy get a cheap set of walkie talkies and tape down the transmit button or maybe now they have one you can lock on like a baby monitor. Put one by the gong and one by you and that might give you some noise

Good idea, Al, and I actually have a set. The grandsons and I play with them from time to time.
