Last shots of the year...
Made smoke with the flintlock this morning, no snow here at all to speak of. Temps in the 30's but colder at night. Shooting the 50 yd gong a bunch today, with some Schuetzen 3fg powder. Might get out on new year's eve but if not I always shoot new year's day.
Hard to imagine it's almost 1825, time flies...
anyhow hope all had a Merry Christmas and enjoy the new year.

Enjoy your shooting, we all do, more with pics of the targets.
I had hoped to get in some shooting, but it turned cold and wet and has rained for 24 hours straight... moving toward 36... so far.
You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.
I don't look back at the things I can't do anymore with regret, I just look forward to the things I still can.

I’ll post some targets in the new year. An assortment of steel plates with big dents in ‘em.

Re: Last shots of the year...
Great to see the weather out there is mild for some shootin' RR!
Re: Last shots of the year...
My muzzleloader is still sitting with powder and bullet loaded, as we have a late season for deer that runs until Jan 1st. Mine is an in-line, so worlds different from yours, and I appreciate the added difficulty of making hits with a flintlock.
I've been going out here and there, but haven't seen something I wanted to shoot at yet, but I know there's still bucks around. We've got about 4" of snow, so tracks and trails are clear and easy to see, as are the deer. Went out last year on Jan 1st for the afternoon, and had a bunch around me as it went past sunset, so I know I'll do that this year too. So unless Bambi's father walks past in the next couple days, my rifle won't get shot until after the ball drops.
