I fired fifty rounds each in my Henry H006M and my Uberti SmokeWagon .357 with ZERO 130 gr. FMJ handloads.

I shot the rifle standing, off hand at 75 ft. The handgun was fired standing, using one hand at 25 ft. It's an indoor range and I alternated between the guns, shooting five rounds at a time.

The front sight of the rifle is still a bit off, so another tap to the right is in order, which I'll do while I'm cleaning it later. I'm a bit happier with my Henry targets today, even though that front sight still needs a little tweaking and I had more than a few fliers.

But, I'm totally disappointed with my handgun targets. I definitely need to spend much more time shooting it. I reviewed the advice posted by TGR and tried to follow it (though I was unable to position my thumb under the hammer while it was cocked, as he suggested), so I wrapped my thumb around the grip as usual and tried not to flinch as I pulled the trigger. I didn't do so well. Way too many wild POIs. It's a good thing I like the practice. I'm going to need a lot more.

I was a proud Henry owner today. Three other shooters couldn't help but comment on how beautiful and accurate it is. I thanked them for the compliment on behalf of HRAC, but considered that last part to be more than a little gratuitous. I liked to hear it, anyway.

Targets full of holes = mission accomplished in my book. Nice groups with both guns.

It is a beautiful rifle, nice shooting. I am not too good with any of my revolvers unless I am at about 15 feet.

CT, I am glad you aren't reviewing my targets. I couldn't come close to your standards.

Glad you got out to the range. Looks good again, CT. I've always appreciated how you handle your BBB and your target results. I know what it takes to get good POIs, since I had that same Henry and was always challenged handling the weight of the octagon barrel. You're doing great with your rifle.

And also glad you have a great reason to get in more range time. Shooting your revolver both off hand and one-handed is a neat challenge, and will be a good skill when you fully acquire it. Keep at it and it will happen! A little bit like "if you build it, they will come."

Glad you got some range time. I consider it a form of meditation with background noise.
