Little .357 work down at the Saloon today...

Post by fortyshooter » Thu May 09, 2024 7:22 pm

A break in the rainy weather so wanted to try out my latest target addition to the Saloon today. Brought along the fine Henry CCH 357 rifle and my
Cimarron 357 Evil Roy six shooter to play some cards. Looks like I cleaned house with both! Load for both was the MB bullets 158 RNFP with 6.0 of Power Pistol in 357 Mag brass.

Looks like a fun range for some spur-of-the-moment lead slinging!
A couple nice looking guns too!

There’s just something about the title “357” that brings joy to our hearts. Heading up to the property next week and the Henry 357 and the S&W 686 will be coming along. :D

Like those SW 686's and have the 7 shooter with 3 inch barrel. For once a new out the box big brand revolver that was perfect right out the box!

I really enjoyed shooting the Cimarron 6 shooter with it hitting right on point with the mild plinking loads. It is the old style Army frame with screw lock cylinder pin and 4 click action.

Another 357 fan, here. Really is the perfect revolver cartridge for much of my shooting. Always has been. I have a similar Cimarron 357 by Pietta that I mostly use with 38s, since I don't reload and don't have the option of light 357 loads. Really one of the best values in a Colt single action I've ever found.

My 686 gets mostly my 38 special reloads with Berrys plated bullets loaded to a nice mild velocity and my Henry gets my full power Hornady XTP-HP loads. That Henry and those full power loads hardly have any recoil at all. Both are great shooters and I plan on dispatching many bowling pins with them next week.
