Big Boy 45 Colt at the Range, Also Revolver

Post by RanchRoper » Sun Oct 30, 2016 7:37 pm

Overcast day with no wind! Shot my Big Boy and Cimarron Colt Richards revolver. Winchester 250gr lead flat nose 45 Colt ammo. Rifle was 50 yds off hand standing and revolver was 15 yds one hand. 20 rounds through each. I might be starting to figure the revolver out. These are 8" targets.

Today I was pleased. I am really trying to not overthink, just aim, trust my aim and shoot.

The other thing I noticed was the HUGE explosion of wood splinters out the backboard from the Colt Richards revolver at 15 yds! :D :o

Pity the cowboys of old who found themselves on the receiving end of that .45 Colt slug!

From the looks of that 15-yard target, "I might be starting to figure the revolver out" has to be one of the biggest understatements ever made on this forum! If you figure it out much more, there will just be a ragged hole where the target used to be.

Doing pretty good with the Big Boy, too.

Awesome targets, RR. You're a natural shooter and it's a pleasure to see the outstanding results. Again and again, you inspire me to practice more. Thanks.

Nice shooting. Yes, the 45 colt is awsome. A big heavy bullet doesn't have to move fast to do a lot of damage. I always shoot better with my saa's than my pistols. Even carry one at times. I like the fact that there is virtually no recoil out of the rifle, yet it does a lot of damage.
