Got a new Holosun HS510C sighted in. Really much better than the factory peep. 25yds, std range ammo as before. First shots low at bottom of target, then worked my up. Last 6 shots in the Top bull. 9 ring is 2.25" dia. Not too bad from the bench. The gun is much more precise and accurate than I am without a rest.

Looks like it will be a nice shooter Gene! Have looked at one but then I already have my HiPoint 45 carbine setup in Bullpup stock and it shoots well.

Outstanding. I'm glad it shoots well for you. I have bought a few guns over that years that shot well for everyone else, and WE just didn't get along.

I didn't keep them. I sold or traded them after working for a while and deciding they just didn't work for me. If I can't shoot them well, I just didn't keep them. Glad it's a match.

Thanks for the range report. How would you rate the trigger pull?

Acceptable. About 5lbs, but I don't have a gauge. Fairly long, but decent break and reset. Given the complexity of the insert, I think Ruger did as well as can be expected. Take a close look at it, and you'll see what I mean, same basic design as a modular Sig.

There aren't any available locally but I'll definitely check one out if it shows up. I'm curious what the velocities are going to be over a 5" govt 1911. Imagine 150 to 200 fps over 230 hardball? I suspect the ACP has pretty much given its all before the end of a 16" barrel though.
Since this gun is +P rated I'm thinking that a 230 flat nose or a 255 gr. RF like the bowling pin shooters use would take the humble .45 ACP up another notch in horsepower.

I'll post MV's and and stats for various ammo in the next few weeks. This model should start showing up at dealers pretty soon. It's only been a couple weeks since they were announced at SHOT.
