Now before shooting a pumpkin I test each revolver and myself on a paper plate target at about 15 ft same distance at shooting pumpkin. This lets me know where the round will hit and how consistent I am holding on target and how much adjustment I need to make like "Kentucky" windage.
When I took 4 shots with the Anaconda I could not believe my eyes as I had fired 4 times and saw one slightly oval hole!
I was so excited I had a tough time spelling "shots" on the plate! Now this can be a bit of challenge when trying to estimate how far over or up/down the aim to hole the eyes nose or mouth.All worked out well but it took at least 35 rounds with the 44-40 to finish that pumpkin. The bullet being slower than the 44 Magnum did not make as large a hole and I had to slot the eye holes and nose with extra rounds without making a mess. The Anaconda no issue with one hit big enough for each eye and nose.
