Two great firearms in a great caliber. Had an XP years ago rebarreled to 7mm 08. Didn’t know the XP was based on the 40X, no wonder it shot so well. Like you, it had a wonderful trigger.

From what I've read, the XP was offered in 7mm-08 as a Custom Shop offering at one point, but being a Custom Shop offering, probably not many made. Even had a walnut stick. 7mm-08 would be a fine cartridge for the XP.

I still have another XP to shoot this season that is chambered in 7mmBR. It came with a hundred rounds of ammo. Same gun as my 223, but in 7mmBR with target sights. Remington called it the Silhouette Target. Can't wait to get out and shoot it.

Mine had a Bomar sight similar to the one you show above. I used it for Silhouette as well.
