Ladder loads + a virgin
Played with the 308 scout rifle and 30-06 Encore for load development today done at 100 yards. Wasn't real impressed with the 308 so on to maybe a heavier bullet and or powder for that. The Encore did about expected for my skills with a handgun.
Then on to the virgin, my new Colt Python. After some adjustment the last 3 weren't to bad at 30 yards.
Then to finish off was my 41 mag done by Clark customs offhand at 30 yards. This one is sighted in at 100 so was shooting high.
Wrapped it up by 1 o'clock as it was getting pretty warm. Now to eat some ribs and call it a day.

Some very impressive handguns and shooting, too. Love the Encore work. I used to shoot the 30-06 in an Encore pistol, too. It was very accurate even with factory loads. The one I had had been magna-ported by a previous owner. That helped a lot with the recoil.

Great report. Keep working on the 308 reloads. That’s half the fun of reloading.

Nice to see someone out shooting. Once I finish my shop projects and the temps drop back below roast, I'll get on the range again.
Great shooting and a nice stable to shoot, I am a handgunner myself.

You can tell a lot about the character of a man...
by the way he treats those who can do nothing for him.

Depending on the twist rate in your 308 you may have some success with bullets in the 168 to 177 range. I’ve had great success with Sierra 168 gr Matchking HP but these can be expensive and are not recommended for hunting. For powder Varget has been great.
