Range Report: offhand plinking

Post by Sir Henry » Thu Aug 03, 2023 9:42 am

I’ve been so busy with projects I get little time to plink. While waiting for a load of rock I decided to make some noise. I’m shooting an H001 SGC offhand at 50 yards and hitting 11” bullet traps. Not really a test of skill but still fun. I had two failed to feeds both user errors. Yes I made the rookie mistake of not cycling the lever like I meant it.

CCI SV is my go to round for plinking. It’s accurate enough and doesn’t make a lot of noise.

I'm glad to see you got some plinking time. It's always good time.

It is really green here. I’m back to the rock pile so no shooting for a few days.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Congrats on the plinking, been so hot here of late.
I like that SV CCI ammo also. I've been grabbing a box or two about every time I go to WW.

I have a couple of older 22 rifles that I prefer to use those in vs the high vel. stuff as well.
As they were built before the HV was a thing.

That’s an important thing to remember. HV is relatively new to rimfire.
