Range Report

Post by Shakey Jake » Sun Jul 30, 2023 4:50 pm

I went to the shooting range this morning around 11 or so. It was already hot at 97° and with the resevoir backing up to the range the humidity was awful. I had planned on spending an hour or so but only lasted for thirty minutes and shot eight rounds. I took my Savage 110 Predator https://www.savagearms.com/content?p=fi ... ry&s=57000 in 6.5 Creedmoor. I was surpirsed that my first five shots were high and a bit left. The last time I shot it at 200 yards I had it spot on. I guess I just flinched differently today. My last three shots were dead on after adjusting the Crimson Trace Hardline scope https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GS ... =UTF8&th=1

I stopped by Whataburger on the way home and got lunch for everyone. The wife wanted to try the new Southern double bacon cheeseburger. The burger alone was $9.19. I only paid $9.59 for my jalepeno and cheese burger meal (drink and onion rings). All was good though.

Very nice shooting at 200 yards. I'd be happy with those groups at 50... :P

That savage was one of the guns I looked at when I was looking for a bolt gun for the farm. I went with the Ruger American Ranch because I would use the AR mags in it and I had a couple on hand. I went with the 556 caliber because I could then shoot 556 or 223 in it. Glad to know that the Savage is a shooter.

Nice shooting Jake.
What grain bullet you using?
I have an Axis in 6.5, and it shoots the 129gr sst and the 143gr ELD-x quite well.

Great shooting Jake. Especially under those conditions.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
