Shooting in the wind....

A very windy day here in the foothills. Wind gusts up to 65mph but it was blowing steady around 35. 50F today.

My Frontier flintlock .50 cal. Had to pick my moments to shoot.

50 yds off hand on my 8" gong. Not too bad all things considered. There were 3 or 4 that missed.
50 grains Schuetzen 3F
.480 patched lead ball

Hard to handle powder in that wind.

Have to huddle over it, you get pretty good at it after a bit.

Nice going. I spent the winter with a guy who lives 3 hours north of Edmonton. His name was Fred and he owned a land clearing business of some sort. Hes about 75 and lost his wife to cancer a few years ago. Quite the character and fun to talk to

Maybe mount a stabilizer wing on the long 50 cal, for those high wind days! Great shooting as always RR.

Great shooting in the wind. Brings a new meaning to shooting the breeze.
