Frontiers new barrel

Post by leverjc » Sat Mar 04, 2023 9:34 am

Yesterday was a perfect day to be at the range 50 degrees, no wind and sun at my back. Henry put a new barrel on my Frontier and I was anxious to see how it would shoot.

I was at the 25yd range to sight it in after I put the Williams peep sight back on it. I used my sight in shots as fouling shots and after it was sighted in I shot some groups with different ammo. I didn't get the type of groups I was hoping for but it may take a little shooting in. My eyes and iron sights might have something to do with the group size.

Having trouble loading the other pics.

Looks like the mini mags gave the Norma some competition.

mini mags are my preferred 22 hunting ammo .... over time they have performed well in every 22 I've fired them through ... looks like your Henry likes them

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

That’s exactly what I was thinking when I saw your target. Good ole’ mini mags, seems like they never disappoint.

Update on my Frontier. It is on its way back to Henry. Since my initial range report I have taken it back to the range twice with different scopes, with the same results. The last trip was a good day with little wind and overcast. I took my time and watched my breathing to take good shots. The barrel has a six inch tight spot in front of the chamber I believe is causing the bad groups and flyers.
