Glad you were not injured Forty. Looks like a weak or defective trigger just decided to let go with that load. I'm not a big fan of MIM or cast parts since they can have internal imperfections that result in failures when least expected.

Well have to find out from the tech at Bond Arms on what might have caused this so I will update when I get it back. They told me they haven't seen this issue before so will see how it goes. I like the thing and was thinking about getting the .44 Special barrel for it before this happened. More than just the hammer flew out of it since there was a spring in there along with the sliding hammer pad that shifts from one barrel to the other.
Another little find is the other round in bottom chamber that I could not fire had a firing pin dent in it but not deep enough to fire it, It could have been both barrels of 45 Colt going off!

That would not have been good at all.
Couldn't imagine both barrels going off simultaneously.
