28F at the range, and after a long (2 years maybe?) spell of shooting black powder only, I took my 1885 Highwall out for a spin.
45 Colt reloads
7.0 grains Universal
Winchester primers
250 gn LFN
Windy today, but I thought I'd go big or go home. 100 yds off hand. I put a rear tang peep on this rifle when I first got it. Works good, takes some getting used to. Funny thing is, I thought this rifle was very heavy when I first got it, but after shooting my long guns it feels very compact with it's 30" barrel.
10" target, 100 yds off hand, I didn't crop out the flyers , I had a few in the wind for sure. But all in all not too bad. Tough to steady that heavy barrel.
8" steel, 100 yds off hand, fun to hear it ring!
Shoot safe, RR
