A little 41 mag. Fun.

Post by Vaquero » Mon Jan 16, 2023 1:01 pm

After hunting this morning, saw one doe on the wrong side of the fence. πŸ€ͺ

I did a little backyard fun.
The 210 gr swc's were all shot off-handed.
The heavy 280's from a rest.
I made a slight scope adjustment and the last shot is the top center of the bullseye. 🎯 πŸ‘Œ
Should put the smack down on a deer.
We'll see in the next week or so.

So, to kinda be off subject a tiny bit here, and coming from a state with way more limited hunting options (Oregon  ) than y'all seem to have east of us here, do you still have hunts you can do there?
Unless hunting a damage control/agricultural type of hunt or something along those lines here, our deer hunting and elk hunts are mostly over til next fall. :(

Added in EDIT: Nice shootin', by the way!!! 8-) πŸ‘πŸ‘

Jimmie, I live/hunt in a county that is infected with CWD, not that I have encountered any as of yet.
In these areas of the state they extended our season from the first weekend of Jan. until the 31st.
I'm glad, as I missed two weeks of prime hunting last month being in SC visiting family.

Good shooting and good luck hunting! I wish Henry would produce a side gate .41.

Question? Do you have to limit your loads to 1.600" or is that rifle forgiving in regards to OAL?

Yes it would be nice but I don't think it will ever happen.
Especially with the new 360BH coming out this year I suppose.

Luckily it is pretty forgiven, these 180 gr come out at 1.71", and they cycle like a dream. ;)
I've all types of bullets through this thing with no hiccups.
I know guys that have Marlin 1894's in 41 mag., that have hangups with swc's.
Mine never has an issue with those either.
