My range neighbor Dave called and said him and a friend would be out shooting today and to come on down. I had pulled out one of my old
steel target stands to give him for his new gong and headed down. Very nice sunny 69 F and brought along my Henry X model 45 Colt with the suppressor and my Ruger Bisley Blackhawk 45.
We setup at the 50 yd. mark and started the fun. I put the first 3 slugs of 45 Colt on that small gong shooting off my knee from kneeling position. Not bad at all with that group. The rounds were my 255 Xtreme plated with 6 gr. Red Dot a great load! Then later I took some shots with the big Ruger 6 shooter using a 260 gr. WFP with 8.8 Unique and hit that gong a few times from 50 yds. Not too bad.
My neighbor and his buddy had their 9mm carbines and pistols out for some good hits as well. Just a great way to start a new year today!
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry
