Range Report: six shots in the snow

Post by Sir Henry » Wed Dec 21, 2022 9:27 am

I loaded up the Ruger and took six shots at the 25 yard trap and missed all six times. Back into the house and 68 degrees and out of the -14F

I will be shoveling the snow and plinking all day or until the snow and wind return. It’s great to live in a place where I can shoot like this.

Well, you got back home just in time for the big storm coming. Get your snow blower fired up. :)

Gene, just your Single Six telling you it’s too cold to be outside shooting.

It’s not just the six shooter that is making some noise.

It looks like the weather on that side of the state is a little rougher than we're having a hundred and fifty miles east of there. :o If the forecast is correct you'll have to allow for windage on a 25 yard shot!!

Maybe those 6 shots froze in place before hitting the target! Yep we are expecting really cold air for Christmas Eve down here in Va.

It’s still dark out but my targets might be buried in drifting snow. It’s only snowed 6” in the last 24 hours yet I have 4’ drifts.

We're going to have a lot of tree damage when those high winds it. Our trees were already carrying a heavy snow and ice load before this storm hit.

It snowed here too. I think we got almost a 1/2" and the drifts were 3/4" deep. The winds were 50mph though, and the wind chill was below zero. Pond froze... ducks blamed Miss T and cussed her out. She gave them some corn so they forgave her and went into the barn and hid on the hay bales. Coyotes are too cold to hunt ducks anyway.

All this cold has given a new meaning to “happiness is a warm gun”.
