Got a new to me 410 last weekend, and had the afternoon off so I pulled out the gang and had a little backyard fun.
Shooting clays was a blastπŸ˜―πŸ˜‰πŸ˜…
I decided to pattern them while I was at it.
All shot from 20 yds. using #7.5 Fed ammo.

That Mossberg patterned nicely! The last one looks good also. Were all choked the same?

Were they all full choked? All of them good for 20 yds.

On the chokes, the Mossy is definitely a full, I'm guessing that the left side of the sxs is and the other modified.
Just a guess as it's not marked, the ole Stevens pump and the little Turkish made single shot have no indications of what they are.
All fun and at roughly the 50 yds. I had to play with were knocking out the clays with ease. 8-)

Nice family of 410’s. Do you have a favorite?

410s have traditionally been choked full. Finding one that isn't can be a challenge. Fun to shoot, no matter how they are choked, though. Had a lot of fun with a 410 barrel on my Contender pistols, back I the day.

It would be nice to assume they were all full choked. The comparison would then be more tell tale.

Well that little Mossy has been here the longest, but after yesterday's fun. :?
There is no clear winner, all were fun and knocked down the clays with ease.
The surprise was that little single shot, even with it's short barrel I only missed once, and
that was because I forgot to pull the hammer back.
Always wanted a double barrel and lucked into this one last week. :o

So the long answer is.... No.
For Cool factor, the SxS for sure.

What about the double?
The left side definitely has a tighter pattern.

I have found my favorite is always the one I’m holding at the time.

That’s a very impressive line up of 410’s.

I'd guess modified and full on a double. All the single barrel guns I've owned, though, were full.

One of the most memorable 410s I've used was a vintage Savage 24 with a 22 LR over a 410 with the button selector on the side of the receiver, so definitely an old vintage. We kids on the farm got rid of a lot of rats down in the corn silo with that old gun and some of those cornfed rats were huge.

Speaking of those old Savage 24s, when one comes up at auction in this area, people go nuts on the bidding. Never see one on the shelf for sale in our local gunshops or I'd buy one.

Now all we gotta do is find some 410's. NCG has me wanting to pull out my 410/22 and have some fun.😁

I would like to see a range report. A 410/22WMR is on my bucket list.

If you do find one, better grab it while you can.

I haven’t found one in ten years of looking.

The only place that I have had any luck with has been online.
Is your's one of the Savage 24's that NCG mentioned?
