Fall Range Time

It was a pretty day today, so I packed up a few firearms and headed to my gun club. I decided that I was going to shoot 357 Mag. so I grabbed my Henry BBS, Rossi R92, Cimarron Pistolero and a one the hadn't been out of the safe awhile, my S&W 19 with 2 1/4" barrel.
To start out I plopped down my steel targets at 27 and 40 yards and also set up a paper target at 12 yards.
Here are the firearms I took with me for blasting away.
I love the peep sight modification on my Henry. This is the poor mans sight, Forty Shooter, came up with and it works fantastic. For the price of a used hacksaw blade and a little time, it works wonders. I added a sight picture just for fun. It's not the best picture, but you get the idea of the sight picture.
Finally before the weather started to get overcast and the breeze kicked up, I decided to shoot one 50 yard group with the Henry, from rest. I moved my paper to 50 yards and fired away. The group in the picture is about 2 1/2" from center to center. I'm pretty happy with that at 50 yards and iron sights.
Shooting steel at 27 and 40 yards, with the rifles, is like shooting fish in a barrel. Next time I'll place both of the out at the 50 yard line, or just move over to the rifle range and put them out further. I was able to hit the 27 yard steel 8 out of 10 times with the Cimarron. I hard to work hard with the S&W to hit the 27 yard steel. Not as good a hit rate as the Cimarron.
Great day and some very nice falls weather.
