Any chance those 6.5 bullets were different weights? Too much spin, over stabilizing one?Vaquero wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 8:02 pmI had that happen with my Creedmoor this past Winter.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 2:55 pmI have seen different powders and or bullets go different directions and then you hit on one that comes back to center. But the .357 Henry is a fun rifle to shoot. 357 Mag loads are still mild to shoot!
One shot straight up and a different ammo shot off to the right,
thought I had bumped the scope or something.
Went back and sure enough the previous ammo was back to center.
I'm working on some hand loads and I haven't had that problem any more.

Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

Re: .357 carbine
Mine shot left too, pretty far left. Was not happy about how far I had to drift the front sight. 357 and 38's were same windage.daytime dave wrote: ↑Sun Sep 25, 2022 11:26 amI had a few minutes yesterday and took my Henry .357 carbine out to shoot. I put a dozen .38 special 158 grn through it and let a buddy try his luck. I wanted to find where the sights were set as this one came to me used a few years ago. The previous owner reportedly had a horse farm and it was packed around the farm in a scabbard on horseback.
For me it shot left, but not too much left. My buddy found the same, so a slight adjustment will be made. Hopefully it won't be a few more years until I can try it out again.

Most likely were, but I have since loaded a few different weights and haven't experience the same.

Just thought I'd ask. Couldn't tell you how many times I have heard someone complain about their new AR-15 accuracy. Then find out they are shooting 55gr bullets from a 1:7 barrel. Just something that gets overlooked sometimes.

I honestly don't remember how my two Henry's shot with irons. They both got scoped within a month of getting them. What with me having trouble with irons and all. Scope time.

Yep. I can see well enough, just not with irons. Just can't focus rear, front and target worth a hill of beans. Handguns, fine.
Scopes to the rifles. They're just desert plinkers anyways. Speaking of the desert, looks to be cooling off over the weekend. Hope so!
