.357 carbine
I had a few minutes yesterday and took my Henry .357 carbine out to shoot. I put a dozen .38 special 158 grn through it and let a buddy try his luck. I wanted to find where the sights were set as this one came to me used a few years ago. The previous owner reportedly had a horse farm and it was packed around the farm in a scabbard on horseback.
For me it shot left, but not too much left. My buddy found the same, so a slight adjustment will be made. Hopefully it won't be a few more years until I can try it out again.

Remember, it's not how many guns you have. It's how many bullets you have.

Why heck yeah, 357 out of a rifle is some all day fun...
Well as long as the ammo holds out.

Re: .357 carbine
First time out myself last week with the X 357 shooting 38's. Very flat, only played with 25 yards but really trying to feel the rifle out. Next trip will be more in depth study.

Mine pull a little to the right, using .357. I wondering if it is the stuff trigger pull. Maybe, .357 may shoot to the right more?

Re: .357 carbine
Really easy! I had plenty of .38 spl on hand. I have to imagine that .357 magnum won't be much different than going from .44 spl to .44 magnum in the Big Boy. A really nice trigger pull on mine.

Re: .357 carbine
I shoot mostly .357s. Yet, I did noticed a different point of impact, when I shot .38 Specials (up and to the left some). Then again, I was shooting a Marlin 1894CS. So, that may be a difference? It is not apples to apples.

I have seen different powders and or bullets go different directions and then you hit on one that comes back to center. But the .357 Henry is a fun rifle to shoot. 357 Mag loads are still mild to shoot!

I had that happen with my Creedmoor this past Winter.fortyshooter wrote: ↑Mon Sep 26, 2022 2:55 pmI have seen different powders and or bullets go different directions and then you hit on one that comes back to center. One shot straight up and a different ammo shot off to the right,
thought I had bumped the scope or something.
Went back and sure enough the previous ammo was back to center.
I'm working on some hand loads and I haven't had that problem any more.

earth coriolis effect. try turning around where you were standing 180 and shoot in the other direction. your shot might go right enough to be right on.
