Rifling around on the first day of Fall 2022
Cool crisp blue sky day for first day of Fall so off to the range to shoot and not work!
Got the roll around shooting platform done adding the side leveling jacks and a rifle rack and wanted to enjoy it all.
Rifles picked for today were the 1885 Uberti High Wall .45-70.... the Hatsan 30 cal. break barrel air rifle... and my Hi-Point 45 ACP Carbine.
First up was the Hi Point and I forgot last time I shot it was without the suppressor attached so I spent time chasing the bulls eye dog with suppressor attached but
got some tight groups along the chase with the 6 gr. Unique 230 gr. load. Never did nail that dog!
Next was the big ol' 45-70 shooting my 13 gr. Unique load with 405 gr. cast lead bullet. The High Wall was right there just as before even tryin to
see the front sight with the sun glare. Shooting towards the West you know.
Then the workout with the 30 cal Hatsan. It is a beast to cock but it was well worth the arm work shooting some good hits from 36 yds off my platform. Those holes gathered around the earlier 45-70 holes.
Then relaxed looking at the great Fall weather while enjoying a cold brew. Of course I had to pop a can with the Hatsan before calling it a day!
Be back again this weekend!

Love that 1885, of course. That Hatsan sounds like a monster. I'd have to hire someone to cock it for me.

The Hatsan was almost like shooting a suppressed 45. You would hear the action hit and then a second or so later the loud thud of the 50 gr. pellet hit.North Country Gal wrote: ↑Fri Sep 23, 2022 5:21 pmLove that 1885, of course. That pellet traveling around 650 FPS and about 65 lbs. of effort needed to cock the barrel. Got my workout in today!

That Uberti High Wall is really nice. Likin' that one. Coors Light ain't too shabby either! Having a Busch beer as type this.

Woof woof, I think that dog is laughing at you forty. However, the rest of the target is not happy at all.

I’m really liking your traveling shooting bench. What a great idea.
