Made it out to the range today to try out a EC9s that I picked up few weeks ago. My goal was to try and determine which brand and weight shoots best in it. I took 3 brands in 115 gr, 3 brands in 124 gr and 1 brand in 147 gr. Overall, I like the pistol. There is not a slide release, and it takes a bit of effort to retract it. Other than that, it seems like a nice firearm. The trigger is smooth. I only shot 25 rounds. After an hour or so, I had enough. I took my time while shooting. But, I did not have any feeding issues. Recoil was nice. Yet, I notice some soreness after 5 rounds. However, it was manageable.

I used a 6 o'clock hold with a one hand grip. And, I used a weaver stance. It was late afternoon. No wind or sun issues. Stood about 7 yards from the target. Shot 124 gr in Federal, Lawman and Norman. Then, shot 115 gr in Winchester and Fiocchi. So far, 115 gr seems to shoot the best at that range. In particular, Fiocchi. I think that I will try 2 more brands in 115 gr, Lawman and Federal, before I settle on a particular brand. Even so, it seems hard to beat Fiocchi.

That’s certainly excellent shooting for a pistol of that size shooting one handed. For it’s intended purpose your shooting with it is more than adequate.

Those are my thoughts as well. Thanks! I was supporting my arm with the other hand though, which most are probably taught to do.

Yes, typical Weaver stance. Nice shooting and a nice little pistol.
