Messin' with 357 and more platform project.......
Taking advantage of this early Fall like weather it was off to the range for work and play.
Today the plan was to fit the anti tilt/leveling jacks to the rear of the trailer shooting platform and hook up the trailer dolly. I had added some needed
height to the ball mount to try to level out the trailer. Pulls around easily and is very steady when locked down. Planning to add a rifle stand at the front of trailer and add a step that folds up at the rear.
The table is one I had down there and is a bit low but wanted to try it out. Will be coming up with correct height table for bench shooting soon.
Will add a simple wood railing around the open side.
Now for the FUN.... I brought along my .357 revolvers and all were shooting same target load of 158 gr. MB coated bullets loaded over 6.0 gr of Power Pistol. Some of the revolvers like it and some maybe not as much looking at the target plates. That well used 1976 Ruger Police Service revolver shot
really well today even making a few hits on the swinging plates from 20 yds. with steady aim.
The little Ruger 357 LCR I had forgotten how hard it will smack the hand even with mild magnum loads....not an all day plinker for sure with it's light weight! But it shot well from 13 yds. double action only of course.
Had fun hitting the targets and the steel today!

forty, that Cimarron and old Ruger Service gun shot pretty darn good. And I'm liking that trailer set-up. Summer time umbrella and you're set!

Coming along nicely, but if it were mine I'd consider putting that table across the trailer. From the one picture It looks like you only about a foot or less behind your rear chair legs. That would make me nervous. One mistake and you might go backwards off the trailer.
Just my 2 cents.

I plan on mounting a pair of extension rails about 16 inch long to support the two outside legs of the table. That will give me another 1.5 foot of chair space to the other side. A rail will go up on that side too. Also if I make another table I can offset the table top a bit more.Headhog wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 4:53 pmComing along nicely, but if it were mine I'd consider putting that table across the trailer. Sounds like you already identified a plan to deal with that issue. Way to go!

That's a really nice assortment of revolvers, forty, and you shoot them well. I always enjoy your posts about them. Thanks.

Love those revolvers! Not sure why you are set up on a trailer but that's a solid platform (and mobile) - I think I just answered my own question there :-)
