Sept 17th BB 45C

Pretty good day today. I almost didn't go cuz of the 50mph wind but I bought some little 8" splatter targets I wanted to try. This is Winchester 250gr LFN my favorite ammo.
50 yds off hand standing and open stock sights of course. I'm ok with these. The first one was left mostly until I corrected for the hurricane. Nice to see where they hit though. Helps for sure. 20 rounds at each target. A few misses here and there. Love that Henry!

Thanks for the report, RR. Your targets always show how good you are with that Henry! Even in a hurricane.

Thanks CT. Even though the paper is much smaller than targets I usually use, the "splat" sure helps me adjust on the fly.

Excellent gale force wind shooting RR! Do you think you could shoot well in the wind from the back of a horse?

Don't have a Henry in 45 colt, but do have others. It is a great round you can load up or down. They usually prefer heavy bullets, at least mine do. Pack a lot of punch with no recoil. Great shooting too.

My 45 Colt Henry is a great shooter. You're right, very little recoil and a big thump on the backboard. The high wind plays havoc on the long shots, but I guess a big lead flat nose bullet isn't the most aerodynamic missile. But I could not be happier with my choice of rifle or caliber.

RR, Ya done good hitting those itty bitty targets at 50 yards. With the wind, Darn good!
I like the splatter targets it makes seeing what you hit so much easier.

Ya they work good. At 50 yds I can't see where bullet hits on the regular target unless I had binoculars or something. But I could see these.

That is "killing it" @ 50 yds off hand RanchRoper. That would be what I would do from a rest.
BTW, those are the same splatter targets I use. At walmart a pack of $5/10 or $10/20 works out to $0.50 a target which is the cheapest You'll find for that size (8")
My main splatters are the GanderMountain 3" @ $0.20 a piece though.
I shoot a lot though, so generally don't use splatter, just various stickers on copy paper.
