Rangereport 44mag Ruger SBH 10.5" @50m and 100m 12 july 22

Ive put in some time in the loadingbench this week. Lubed and sized two different bullets 265grain sized to .431 for my Ruger. Both shoots well. 5shot groups.

Bullet 1: Saeco #432 265gr rnfp gc. 14bhn, Vithavouri n110 , federal lpm
Bullet 2: NOE 267gr rnfp tl design 14bhn, Vithavouri n110, federal lpm

Loaded up 50 each of them last couple of days, today I went to the range after work. Perfect weather all by myself.

This is what I use when shooting Magnum, nothing fancy 12" pvcpipe and some old carpet for backsupport, old car mat in rubber with a piece of seatpad protecting knees from cylinderblast when taking support on knees.

This the sightpicture @50 meters

And Saeco at 50meters

And I just needed to stretch out to 100m, to try how the bulletdrop would be and it wasnt so bad but I need to practice some more :D I hit the paper atleast.

Conclusion both loads performs well, Noe load has deeper seating, but less charge and more pleasant recoil. Saeco has less seating depth, higher charge and a little snappier recoil. at 431 Saeco seems to perform better but cant really tell without a benchrest its probably me adding the flyers. When trying .432 sizing Noe felt better but cylinder throats cant push .432 bullets through so cant use that bulletsize longterm.

I missed this one but that is some good shooting Ruhler! Have you tried Alliant 2400 powder? What speeds are you seeing from your loads?
I have a SBH in 44 Mag with 7.5 barrel and it shoots very well. Nice range setup too!

Thanks, no haven tried anything else than vithavouri powders, this load Saeco rnfp 265gr from 10.5" shoots at 1377fps. Today I went to a small club competition didnt go so well sunlight and cloud messed up my sighting. When sunny shot point of aim, cloudy i had to aim higher and ofc made some mistakes aswell triggerfinger to much to the right pushed a little to the left. But overall satisfied pretty good groups but ofc some nerves were involved shoots better any day of the week (as we all do) ;) but it was fun. :D Placed third but I was the only one shooting with 44mag the others used 357mag.

Having hard to find time for casting, loading, shooting with a toddler around :D Have a interesting mpmold in brass I want to try with different inserts for hollowpoints and normal flatpoint. solid weight is around 250gr swc design.
