Flintlock Fun on a rainy day....

Post by RanchRoper » Sun May 01, 2022 7:22 pm

My Frontier .50 cal flintlock named "Chinook" because of all the wind shooting I do around here. Rain on & off all day.

50 grains Schutzen 3fg
.480 patched ball

50 yards off hand, getting more comfortable with the whole flintlock thing....much more relaxed and don't sweat the small stuff, swabbing between shots if I need to, etc. I find shooting this rifle it's very easy to tune out the rest of the world. :D

Tuning out everything else but the shot is the gospel of good shooting for sure. Bet you could hold your own with the best of them from the flintlock era.

First one in the middle. Next ones further out. Last two right above the middle.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......
