Down at the range this morning for some grass cutting and to shoot the Ruger Bisley BH and the Grizz 45 derringer.
This time I made up a snake type target using a piece of old bike inner tube and some of that small plastic wire loom material. Wanted to see
just how much .410 No. 8 shot might hit a snake sized target. From about 6 ft. this was result of 2 shots fired from the Grizz. Might have taken care of the black cotton mouth but I know the 2 hits from the Bisley 45 sure did....snake eyes!
Then after some great shot groups from the Bisley on the paper target using my 6 gr. Red Dot loads I grabbed the Grizz for 2 shots at the small target of left side of the paper target. Not too bad from 12 feet shooting the 230 gr. XTP loads.
Went on to shooting the steel and wore out the plastic bottle target! That Bisley BH with the ghost ring rear sight is one sweet shooter!
Spring has sprung. Get out and shoot your Henry

Gotta love that atomically correct head right down to “eyes”.
Nice touch and I bet you were laughing when you made it.

Yeah as I was looking around in the shop for snake size target I spotted the old bike tubes I had replaced couple weeks ago on the wife's bike.
Stuffed it with rolled up paper towels and had at it. The little 45 derringer shoots fairly well for what it is. May need to try reloading my small collection of .410 shells as I only have few left. Neighbor down the street that used to shoot a lot of shotgun thought he might have some.
Also have to look around in my targets at the range for another couple of those bottles...that red/pink one shot up a bit!

forty, I also have some .45 Colt 250gr lrnfp loaded with 6.0gr RD. Looking at your target, I can not wait to try it in mt Uberti. That looks to be a good load. Also have some .45 auto loaded with RD.
