Paul, I'll say it again; that 94AE is a NICE looking lever gun. And shoots damn good also! And in .45 Colt! Indeed!!

Thanks Tom. I’m really digging it and looking forward it’s next range trip.
I called Winchester this morning and per their info this rifle was made in 1997.

So does this mean it was manufactured by FN?

Re: Winchester 94AE First Rounds
Yes Sir. FN took over Winchester some time after '89 when US Repeating Arms went bankrupt. Today, Browning (also owned by FN) and Winchester now operate together. FN continued operations at the old New Haven, CT plant until 2010. Then the Winchester production was farmed out to Miruko in Japan.

Re: Winchester 94AE First Rounds
Forty,
I put a green glow sight from Ranger Point on the front of my .357 Winchester. I can pick it up really nicely and it also fixed the low point of aim.

Jake,
I'm with you on the glow sights. They standout much more and the fiber optic can be replaced very easy if damaged. I have them on almost all my handguns.

Re: Winchester 94AE First Rounds
Great find. I somehow missed this thread and the thread when you bought it. The 45 Colt is my favorite caliber for the 94 although mine have all been 30-30.
From your target it looks like you found a winner. Some better sights and it will be perfect.

Thanks Gene. 45 Colt 94's are few and far between. I just got lucky on this one.
