Very windy day at the range this morning, but I wanted to burn some black powder.
40F with a 25 mph west wind. Blowing straight down range. I find it easier to compensate for a crosswind than to figure one like this out. It just plays hell with the trajectory I find.
60 Grains Goex 2fg
.010 patch
.495 lead ball
100 yds off hand, no groups today but hit a 10" circle so I'm ok with it. I only shot the 4 balls, didn't have as much time today.

It'd sure be nice to have a calm day but the warm weather comes from the Chinook winds, so it's either -30 or mild & windy....take your pick.

Chinook is one of my favorite words. Wish we had one right now.
Nice shooting and know you could take down any big game animal with a 25 mph down range wind.

Great shooting as usual RR. I would like to go to the range but unlike you I am not going out there when it is 20 degrees.

That's about the kind of weather here lately. Southern winds bring in the warmer 50 F air along with a 20 MPH wind.
Good shooting RR and don't they call it "shootin' the breeze"

You have a preference in the ball size. My 54’s seem to like the 535 better. Nice shooting for condiions to

I prefer a .490 ball, but shoot .495's and .480's too.
