Spent the afternoon checking out the .45-70 and the Ruger GP100 with upgraded sights.
Took some shots with the .45-70 at 50 yds and 75 yds.
I used H4198 powder for these loads with velocities approx 1500 fps
All the shots from the GP100 were at 10yds.
Henry .45-70 with Skinner Express Sight Top 2 holes at 50 yds. with 300 gr. Hornady JHP bullets
Bottom 3 holes at 75 yds. with the Hornady 300 gr. JHP bullets
Used 405 gr. MBC Hard Cast Bullets at 50 yds. on this target RUGER GP100 with 5" barrel Rear sight is a Warren Custom Outdoors "One Hole Sight" the front sight is a Hi-Vis
This combination seems to work better for my aging eyes.
All shots at 10 yds using mild magnum loads with Unique Powder (7.4 gr)
and 158 grain LSWC bullets
Some shots were fired single action and some double action
I like to shoot revolvers but I'm not good at it.
