.41 Mag BBSC practice

Post by GunnyGene » Sat Sep 25, 2021 3:40 pm

Haven't shot this gun/ammo (Underwood 210gr XTP) since last Nov so went out this morning to make some holes. Nikon scope mounted. 100 yds, shooting from a Caldwell bag. Weather is perfect - Mid '70's, 50% rh, sunny, no wind.

A couple things going on here.

Either I need to shoot more, and/or I'm getting some significant variation in the ammo muzzle velocity. I'm leaning towards me rather than the ammo, since I've run this ammo over a Chrony, and it's pretty consistent round to round. That vertical spread tells me I'm not controlling my breathing/trigger squeeze as well as I should. I'm out of targets however, so I'll have to remember to pick up another pack of Dirty Bird next time I go into town.

with a string like that, you most certainly have something to work with .... keep on sending them down range and posting the results

We are all guilty of that breathing/trigger stuff Gene. Only 2 people on here I know that don’t seem to have that issue NCG. and some cowboy calls himself Ranchroper.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

At $1.28 (as of my most recent purchase) per trigger pull, I can't afford to send too many down range. ;) Also it's very scarce at present, so conservation is a must.

Gene, I have never shot a jacketed ammo in my bbs, but have tried Underwood's 250 cast and they grouped well at 50 yds.

Well if your intended target is tall I think you have a kill there! Looks good to me.
