Where the buffalo roam...
Beautiful day out on the frontier. Let's set the scene first of all....
(my wife took the photo near Waterton Park)
Now for some black powder shooting....my .50 cal Frontier rifle, 50 grains Triple 7 powder, .015 patch and .490 lead ball.
Some 50 yd off hand work, very satisfied with this one....
Then a double sided target....the black dots are on the back of a 100 yd effort off hand (just masking the holes), and the back side of the same sheet I set up at 250 yds just to see if I could even hit it...2 shots and got it once! You can see the tear in the paper. Not bad for primitive sights, and off hand shooting! Aiming just over the top of the white sheet of paper....lots of drop as you can see but my elevation was not far off and windage a little off too. Quite the delay between the shot and the sound of the hit.
Here you can see the sheet of paper on the 250 yd....that's a long way out there. I even zoomed in for the photo too.
Hope you enjoyed my little frontier adventure, shoot safe....RR

That is great offhand shooting. Your offhand at 50 was better than my bench at 25.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Warm Sept weather right now. 70's all week and cooling off next weekend to the 60's. Nights are in the low 40's now mostly.

Amazing, as always. Always so much more to your posts than a range report. Love them.
