good crown

I was not sure where to put this as this happened with my 392 Benjamin multi pump. I have read on different air gun forums that these guns came from the factory with paint in the crown as mine did but being the gun was very accurate I didn't pay any attention to it. The accuracy was good until about 4 days ago when it opened up to 2" groups at 25 feet. I could not to figure what happened. I was looking at the crown and noticed that the paint was missing on one side. Some paint remover and a Q tip removed the rest of the paint leaving nothing but shiny brass. The following pics will show the difference.

The far right target is what I shot after removing the paint. The bottom photo is about a 30 round off hand group at 25" before it lost accuracy. The far right group would of been better but I am still shakey after an auto accident yesterday. A goo crown is very important.
