range report 22
Tryed two diff. Scopes and two diff ammo's
The first was a Bushnell 3 - 9. - 32
Couldn't get a good group out of it Or. The Winchester ammo. Or bought. And I couldn't see a clear pic. Out of it.
So I left the range , and headed home.
Pulled out 3 other scopes I had on a shelf.
Installed one and, headed back over to the club.
It's been raining on and off all night and all day so far.
Sited in first at 30 yds , then went out and posted the same target at the 50.
Couldn't beleave the difference in the gun.
Not sure if it was all the scope, or part ammo as well.
Used Remington golden bullets. Std. Vel.
This target at 50 yds has 7 rounds in this group
In and around the 10.

Re: range report 22
Thanks for the report and pics. I'm looking forward to your next report to see just what you think made the difference; the ammo or the scope or a blend of the two. Nice shooting and helpful info.

Great second round by the looks of that 50-yard shredded ten! Good job.
I'd just mention for what less than 2 cents it's worth, that both what from what I've read, as well as shooting some Rem Golden Bullets myself (Rem 40gr Golden Bullet HV, 40gr PLRN), that it is a pretty accurate ammo. I'll continue to shoot these in my Small Game Carbine as they do fine.
On the RFC forum, there is a 2-part discussion about the GBs. Interesting with of course those folk who call it a "plus" ammo, and those who call it a "minus" ammo. Generally, there were quite a number of "plus" voices as I read through these pages. You might like to check it out, if you haven't seen it already. I'm certain there are other discussions as well across the spectrum of gun forums. Lots to read!!
And it will be cool to learn what you finally find out about your scopes and ammo types......

Great report, excellent shooting. Golden bullets have always been good for me.
Glad you were able to get in some trigger time.

Re: range report 22
I have found Remington LR Golden Bullet to shoot consistently better groups than other rounds I have tried. CCI mini mag is my second choice for the Small Game Carbine.

Re: range report 22
Years ago When I shot on a indoor pistol league
For score's. A distinguished expert shooter that
Was on my team told me when he opened a brick
Of 22's he dumped them all out on his desk, and weighted each round.. And put them in piles ,
All the rounds that weight the same.
I could never become a distinguished expert. So I
Wouldn't start doing that.
