Two Bulldogs and a terrible terrier at the range.....

The dogs been stuck in the house for weeks so I let them run today to see what they could do! :D

Brought the .45 Colt, 44 Special Bulldogs and the little Ruger 357 LCR, the Terrier, out to see how they performed with the carry loads.
3 shots of each on targets in Double Action mode from 7 yds. since these are really belly guns for close in SD work. Ammo fired for the target and ballistic gel test was.... 45 Colt 230 gr. XTP HP bullet loaded with 9.2 Unique. 44 Special 200 gr. Speer GD loaded with 8.2 gr. Power Pistol and 38 Special +P 158 gr. Rim Rock SWC HP with 6.3 gr Power Pistol. https://youtu.be/_ZZnp9Q-BvM

I am always impressed with how the Ruger LCR puts them right where you aim. Very nice shooter with great DA trigger. About 11 inch of gel penetration
with a great expansion which does slow it down.
The 44 Special Bulldog shoots a bit low and was going right on me on this day and have shot it better. Double Action shots though with a jumping revolver. The 200 gr. Gold Dot bullet traveled about same distance in gel as the 38 Special load.

Now the Big Dog 45 Colt impressed me with the 230 gr XTP HP bullet loaded with 9.2 Unique with full 16 inch travel in the gel with a decent expansion for a nice mix of penetration. With that .600 ragged expansion it would do damage on it's full travel! Shot well too and you feel it but it is not too bad.
Will carry this doggy more often with that load....good small 5 shot trail gun too.

Then it was treat time for those hungry dogs for some biscuits. Those little things could be hard to hit!!

Had a good time at the range this morning!

Enjoyed the video and I can see you had a fun time making it. Good shooting Forty.

That 45 Colt Bulldog is one mean gun. That will definitely put a hurt on anyone at the receiving end.

Looks lie that LCR runs well for you -- nice shooting. I have a LCR .327, and it is a great carry gun.

Nice video brother. Laid back and fun. Too bad we never got to shoot together before Miss T and I packed up and headed west. :D
