Cashin' in
I have been saving my empty 22 rifle shell casings to sell them at the salvage yard here. Last week I took my casings from our shooting we have done for the last year plus a few months. Was less than a year and a half of saving them since the last time I took them in. Prices were higher this time. I was a little surprised when the guy weighed them in and told me I had 91 lb of casings. They paid $200 for the brass. Worth saving them from all our trips to the range and we are required by our club to clean up after shooting any way. Shell casings are bringing better prices right now than brass that usually brings higher prices than shell casings. Last time I sold empty rim fire casings I sold 34 lb and it was just short of 50,000 rounds so I guess this was around 125,000 plus empty casings. I only keep what my wife and my shooting partner and myself shoot. Putting down a cheap plastic tarp makes gathering them up easy. Save your brass and recycle it and make a few bucks for buying more shooting supplies.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Way to go. I save mine also, but really haven't shot them very much the last year or so. Also the cf cases that eventually slipt, and a few that get messed up in the reloading process.

That is an incredible amount of spent cases. I’m impressed with the quantity of shooting you do. Makes my think I need to get my lazy butt to the range.

Great job, never thought of saving the rimfire cases. I gave away ten five gallon buckets of cf brass when we moved. My mentor did so much for me over the years, I'm sure he will distribute it among new shooters just beginning to reload and in dire need of brass. He has plenty.

Re: Cashin' in
nicely done .... we load our own centerfire ammo and shooting revolvers, derringers, and lever/bolt action makes it pretty easy to pickup our brass .... from seeing the value of empty cases I now wish I'd of picked up the other brass I left laying
