Range Report: day after day

I miss shooting rimfire but I’m able to shoot bb’s day after day. I’m getting things done and sometimes will shoot when I take a break. The weather might stop me during parts of the day however I’m still able to shoot during the lulls.
What is really nice is everything is setup and all I have to do is pick it up and shoot. If I’m shooting good I continue and if not I stop and go back to work to shoot again maybe ten minutes to ten hours later. I never know. I never plan.
All this relaxed shooting has helped. Sometimes I can get in a dozen incredible shots. It’s been a long time since I’ve shot this good. It may only be a BB gun and not the most accurate thing in the world but it’s much more accurate than I ever imagined.

Bought my granddaughter a Daisy BB gun, her dad setup a range in their garage. Found the BB gun my sons used and me and her try to use the range daily!

I bought a pellet gun for similar reasons: cheap to shoot, yet able to target practice. Plus, low noise and less hazard for surrounding neighbors.

Good for you, Gene. I've always believed that shooting is shooting as far as the basics; BB gun, pellet gun, cannon, whatever. When it comes to guns, it's all a matter of using them at distances they were designed to operate, but, of course, we can push the limits for the sake of fun and/or learning. In the case of Bb guns, it's typically a 5 to 10 yard shooting game, but there's no law you can't shoot them at other distances. Bottom line is that you are keeping your shooting skills sharp and having fun in the process, not to mention doing it cheap. Can't beat that.

I’m shooting at 15 yards. The small measuring cup to the right is two inches across. To small for the accuracy at the distance. The cyan cup on the left is three inches and about the extreme limits of accuracy. The orange cup on the right is four inches and well within the accuracy. The teapot must be six inches and a guaranteed hit.

I’ve found shooting the Red Ryder challenging but only at extreme distance for its accuracy. I’m making another range report today with the QB78S. That is a completely different animal.

Gene, your sign reminds me of the old Rainier Beer commercial, you know it........
“Keep them fresh one’s brewing, Rainier”
Best advertising campaign ever I think.
