50 yd. target and some golf ball fun with the Henry .22

Post by fortyshooter » Tue May 25, 2021 2:51 pm

Down at the range this morning to do some work and brought along the Henry "Evil Roy" in case I had some time to shoot.
So chores finished up early and wanted to try some 50 yd. target shots with the little carbine. Ammo was Federal Auto Match and CCI 22 Long CB's.

Well wasn't doing well on the 50 with either ammo as you can see shoots all over. Center bulls eye was the Federal and the top target the CB's.
Was shooting from a rest and don't know if it was the ammo.... me.... or the Henry.
Now put an object like a golf ball out at 15-30 yds. and I was wacking it around every shot. Also put some cans out at 35 yds. and has hitting those OK.

Was fun putting the ball around with the CB's!

Maybe just one of those days forty, we all get 'em. Rinse, repeat.

Fatigue from range work. When you retire play first work later.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Yeah I know we can do better such as the first target I shot with it. Most times I am better at hitting objects rather than tight group on paper.
Anyway it was fun to get some plinking in! Still getting the pieces ready for the bridge assembly and maybe next week for the construction. Creek
is dry where the bridge is going in and sections of it still have some water. Dry as a bone in the Central and Southern area of Va.

Play first and then play later. A bad day at the range is still a better day than work.

Yup, that last target is great. Hey, CBs at 50 yards is more less shoot and pray, anyway. :)
