M77 Ruger .280

Post by Shakey Jake » Sun May 23, 2021 3:35 pm

Headed to the range to sight in a new scope on the Ruger. Started off a bit rough as I was over compensating. I was really proud of the last four shots (circled). I got it dialed in really well for these old eyes. There's a bit of a glare but there's four shots just above the bullseye grouped almost like a cloverleaf. 100 yards using a Burris Fullfied E1 scope.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Very nice group. I've always liked Ruger 77s. They sometimes take a bit of tuning, but I've had great luck with them.

That is a good combo: Ruger M77 and the .280. Win-win! Nice group to finish with.

Yes sir, It's a load using 48.4 gr of IMR 4350, a Nosler HBTSP 150 gr bullet, and Remington nickel cases. The M77 has the heavy barrel and is a good shooter. I got it for a great price a few years back with a Leupold fixed 12X target scope. I sold the scope and put the money towards the Burris which is a 4.5 - 20 X 50mm. With my macular degeneration I have to have all the help I can get.

Nice job Jake. Those last 4 rounds say it all. I'd say you got it dialed in just right.
