Afternoon air gunning with the family today!

Post by fortyshooter » Sat Apr 24, 2021 5:04 pm

My son came by with his girls...Sophie and Macie this afternoon and Macie wanted to shoot the air guns. So I had the Walther .177 lever rifle ready along with my Gamo PT 85 Blowback pellet pistol. Macie tended to shoot the pistol much better than the heavier rifle and was getting hits on the dueling tree and a couple on cans and water bottles.
Also was trying out my new target setup for air rifles and low velocity rimfire....the Poker Chip rack! When you get a hit the chip it swings down revealing the dollar amount on the backside! Yes I painted all 8 of those things using a stencil. Will be using the setup down at the range later for a 22 rifle shoot.
Wife and I really enjoyed having fun with the girls today! Haven't seen them since Christmas due to the you know what but now we have had our shots!
Macie will get to be a better shot as time goes on.

Those kids are darling! Thanks for sharing.

That's very creative of you on the new shooting game. Where did you get the idea? I may try to do something similar.

Looks like a good time Forty. Being able to shoot in the back yard is great. I sure like my little range.

Don't worry about getting older and still doing stupid stuff. You'll do the stupid stuff as always, only much slower. Hold my beer and watch this.......

Great quality family time and fun with the grandchildren. Nice having a range in the yard for some impromptu shooting.

I had those plates setup up on that saloon wall for years for my air rifle range. I took them down a while back and repainted them...mounted them on the portable wood stand. Want to use it down at the BullsEye Saloon for light rimfire use too as in the CB or Quiet loads. The steel discs are actually heavy gage steel knock out slugs from plant I did part-time tooling at. I made the air rifle target tree on the left from light gage sheet metal and aluminum tube swing arms to keep the swing weight down. Seems to work well and it was Macie's favorite target!
