Range Report: called in sick

I spent most of yesterday hauling rock and a couple bags of concrete and did a little digging. Today it finally broke 60 degrees and I called in sick.
Although not complete the fence is a fence that serves its purpose of stopping people on the blind end of my range. I never felt comfortable shooting as fas back as 25 yards which is where I shot today.

When the range is cold I’ll turn the signs around.

My first ten shots in the QB78. The eighth shot is low left and I didn’t pull it.

A quick scope adjustment and three more shots, another adjustment and I’m getting closer to zero.

I’m taking my time and the sun is now blinding me. I could not see the crosshairs in the black target.

Then four shots all over the place. The rifle was in the sun and that is never good. Time to fire up the barbie.

Well, I think Spring fever can be considered a sickness. For me, some nice days just make me want to play hooky.

Love that yard and some nice grouping mixed in there. Wonder how much of the CO2 factor was involved? Anyway, calling in sick to go shooting works for me, every time.

Your range looking great Gene and some great shooting when sun is in your face...I do know about that !
Rest up and shoot some more! Might try my Co2 Walther Lever rifle tomorrow in my backyard.

I lost count on the number of shots but I must be close to the two 12g limit.

I get it. When shooting CO2 or PCP, I don't want to have to count shots. Most PCPs now have an on board pressure gauge, so you can look at that, but I usually know it's time for a refill when the POI starts to drop, especially with the CO2 guns.

That might have been what happened to me. I may just release the final pressure and empty the rifle of cylinders. Next up is the QB-II.

Used to be a rifle out that used charged cylinders for each pellet/bullet. You would recharge the cylinders after each shot and carrying them around along with your pellets/bullets. Haven't seen anymore about the company in a good while. They were going to bring out a true double barrel .410 shotgun using those cartridges.
