Was -5F at the range but our arctic weather is moving out so instead of dry cold, it's now a damp cold. And it felt like it. The kind of cold that makes your joints hurt. Anyhow, I did manage to get about 15 rounds through the 1885 Highwall at 100 yds. 10 of them in the 6" hole. 4 of them in a 3" hole. This is with my tang sight up & raised up a bit. Sorry I don't have the actual settings, no idea, I adjust things how they feel right and just shoot. This is shooting from 1 knee. Took a few to get it working. Luckily it wasn't a buffalo charging me.

200 gr LRNFP with 7.6 gn Universal. No wind at all. Amazing how that little rear tang peep helps. Was going to try 200 yds but it was too darn cold to walk out and back. After these rounds were fired my trigger finger that's missing the first joint was like an ice block. You know your hands are cold when you are holding warm brass in your hand after it ejects, trying to warm up. Speaking of ejects, they all eject fine now, must have been a break in period. Sure is a treat to shoot this old timey single shot.

RR that is definitely some fine shooting. Just getting out under the conditions you do is amazing by itself. Then to demonstrate again and again the group performance you show is just fantastic. Keep posting these targets I always appreciate seeing this kind of marksmanship.

As always, expertly done, cowboy. Oh, I know about the difference between dry cold and damp cold. For me, it's sometimes impossible to stay warm in the damp cold no matter how much I dress for it. Of course, I'm, uh, not as young as I used to be.

It's funny, I was outside doing chores all week at -35 morning and night, and shot at the range last weekend at -12 but was never as cold as I was today at -5 with the dampness. Thanks for the kind words.

Damp or or dry cold its damn cold. Nice shooting RR. Every time I watch Mountain Men I see the guy in there with the dogs shooting a hi wall
