Yep, from the deck Al.
Tried out some 444 Marlin loads, 265 gr Hornady's and a Healthy dose of H4198. These are just 50 yds. First is the ss ( sporter safety) anyway it's a scoped 22" barrel model. Very first round was a little right then the next 4 found center.

Then I got the P, which is like a guide gun for those not familiar. It has an 18.5" ported barrel as for the P. It wears a big ole ghost ring, and I definitely need a little more time with it. Min of pie plate they say.

well I barely got that. As you can see 3 on target and two top of the paper.

Not sure why I got the double pic. Maybe a mod can delete the second one.
Here's the ghost ring look.

Ghost rings are my least favorite. Good shooting with the scope! I deleted the duplicate picture however you could have also by going to edit. You had placed it inline twice.

When I went back to try and edit, on that it only showed the one time, was afraid it would delete both. Thanks
For some reason I was having a time just get them posted to start with. Thank You very much again sir.
And the ghost ring came with it, I may remove it and try the factory buckhorn, as it is still in place.

Sometimes it will delete both in which case you just place it inline again.
Buckhorn sights are almost as bad as a ghost. From what I hear they are great for hunting and following a moving target. You did a lot better than what I could have done.

Nice shooting Randy. I as well had good luck with that same bullet and 4198 when I owned that exact same gun years ago

Good shooting Randy on that top one. Yeah, try the buckhorn, never know. Wonder if Ruger will bring back the .444?

Great shooting and always great to be able to shoot off the back porch. I do it occasionally just not to upset the neighbors. Plenty of room and a good and a good natural back stop directly behind my back deck. Everyone around me shoots from time to time, but nobody abuses it.

Thanks guys.
Headhog, I only have a couple of close neighbors.
They have never complained, but I don't constantly shoot from there. But it is handy for a quick test, or to just let off a little steam.
Tom, I may try it, can't be much worse.

That ghost ring sight hole looks big...what size is it? The larger you go on the ghost ring your accuracy goes away a bit at longer distance.
Maybe you can find a smaller apperature.
Great shooting with the first rifle and bet that .444 kicks a bit!
