Found this old range target in my pictures....

Post by fortyshooter » Fri Jan 29, 2021 5:33 pm

About 10 years ago when I first had my .45-70 BFR and put a EoTech sight on it. Was getting it zeroed from 50 yds. on that coyote shooting Winchester
300 gr. ammo. The range was at the local Army base and was open to public on Sundays. Shooting positions were under a covered area and the blast would shake the concrete floor a few stalls around...especially the guy next to me trying to sight in his .22 rifle!
Wish I could find some video of that! The RO was okay with me shooting it even though .45-70 in rifles was not allowed.
Somebody ratted on the RO and my BFR got the boot!

Definitely a lot of pistol. I've shot the 45-70 in a Contender and Encore pistol and I would not describe it as a pleasant shooting experience.

Great for opening 5 lb. cans of corn and destroying concrete blocks!

over the years I've looked at several firearms and knew without any doubt that I wouldn't mind watching someone else shoot it but had absolutely no desire to do so my self .... a western style 45-70 revolver would most certainly make that list .. :o

There was a video of a fellow shooting a .45-70 derringer on U-tube. Set it down after the first round and said no thanks to the second...There are other videos, but I could not find that one to share.

You da man forty, no doubt.
I want no part of it.
I shot a friends 500 S&W, but it wasn't near as much as I was thinking it was going to be.
But, I'm out on that one. ;)

Forty,
Some big bang in a small package (relatively speaking)! Are you still friends?
